 Dear Brothers and Sisters, 

 Your negotiation team was able to accomplish a successful completion of the new 3-year contract, which is effective July 1, 2002. In an extensive one day negotiation session your team was able to successfully obtain a 3% ongoing salary increase for this school year, 8 hours of your personal necessity for the death of a close friend or relative, along with guaranteed Health Benefits at their current level for calendar year 2003.  

It was a combined effort from all of the team members: Linda Ward, Don Moss Ann Altieri, Jack Sims, Charlotte James and Carla Payton. An overwhelming majority of the team supports this tentative agreement. The agreement is subject to a ratification vote by Teamster members and the approval of LAUSD Board of Education.

 Enclosed you will find a ballot, a ballot envelope and return envelope with a label on the back  Please mark the ballot and insert it in the ballot envelope, seal it, and place the ballot envelope in the return envelope. Do not alter the ballot, ballot envelope or the return envelope in any way or your ballot will be disqualified.  All ballots must be received by 5:00 p.m. on October 21, 2002.  Ballots will be counted at 5:00 p.m. on October 22, 2002 at Teamsters Local 572, 450 Carson Plaza Drive, Carson.
