This past Saturday, April 18th, 2020 from 9:00 am until 2:30 pm, over 2,300 families participated in the Food Bank Distribution event. The event was co-sponsored by Teamsters Local 572, The LA County Federation for Labor, the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Labor Community Services.
When the event began at 9:00 am, the line of cars extended as long as 4 miles. When we received word that the line was still 4 miles long with less than 30 minutes left in the scheduled event, we quickly worked with Carson Mayor Pro Tem Jim Dear and the Los Angeles Sheriff Department’s Carson Station to extend the event as long as needed to ensure that we were able to help every family in line.
Below are photos from the successful event, which would not have been possible without our sponsors, staff and community volunteers who spent the entire day bringing a sense of hope to families in our communities to desperately needed it.
