LA Unified team has continued to work closely with our public-safety partners over the weekend in monitoring the Saddleridge Fire and air-quality conditions. Based on the most current information provided to us, all Los Angeles Unified schools will be open Monday and operating on regular schedules. All after-school programs will be in session. Outside activities will be limited throughout the week as needed.
Maintenance crews worked this weekend to replace air filters and clean the campuses that were affected by the fires so they will ready when classes resume tomorrow morning.
Superintendents, Local Districts and Site Administrators have been provided messaging scripts and will be sending out BlackBoard Connect messages (as well as Spanish translated) this afternoon for families and school employees, providing them information that all schools will be open tomorrow that reflects the same messaging as below, with various personalized messaging to their schools as needed.
We recognize situations like this are stressful for many employees, students, and families, and we will have LA Unified counselors available for those who may need support. We’ve provided further information at lausd.net for those who have been impacted by the fire.
Communications will be sending out information to our media partners and also will provide information via KLCS and District website.
Mental Health support will be available to those schools most affected.
