Shortly after the Executive Board of the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor voted unanimously to approve sanctions in support of a United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) strike, Rick Middleton, Secretary-Treasurer for Teamsters Local 572, released the following statement:
“Over 60,000 grocery workers in Southern California are fighting to ensure that they share in the prosperity of the profits gained by corporate supermarkets who they work for, and Teamsters Local 572 stands in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in their fight for the wages and benefits they deserve. In this country, nobody should have to work more than 1 job to provide a roof over their families and food on their tables.”
